1. What if I have an emergency after the clinic is
closed?
If your pet is a
patient at Cleburne County Animal Clinic, you should call the clinic at (501)
362-8283 to get the pager number. You can then call and have the doctor
paged. If the doctor is unable to return your page within a few minutes,
you should call the After Hours Animal Hospital in North Little Rock at (866)
955-0911. This is a well-equipped emergency facility staffed with doctors that
have the experience to properly deal with an emergency situation. If your
pet is not a patient at Cleburne County Animal Clinic, you should contact your
pet's regular veterinarian and follow their instructions for an emergency.
If you do not have a regular veterinarian, you should call the emergency clinic
at the above number.
2. Can I drop off my pet to see the
doctor?
You may make arrangements with
the office to drop off your pet for minor services such as
routine vaccinations or procedures. If your pet has a medical
condition that they have not seen the doctor for previously, we may recommend
that you make a regular appointment to be with your pet for its visit.
This is so we make take a complete history and ask questions that may be
important and so we may discuss options to consider in your pet's medical
care.
3. What if I just need to ask a
question?
We have a qualified
paraprofessional staff that is well qualified to provide assistance and
information about your pet's health care needs. If you ask a question that
the staff is unable to answer right away, they may check with the doctor and
return a call to you with the correct information. The staff may determine
that it is in your pets best interest for you to make an appointment for an
examination or to go over more detailed information about your pet's medical
care.
4. Can I charge my pets visit?
To avoid any misunderstanding, please discuss with the
doctor any questions you may have concerning fees. We will be happy to
provide you with a written estimate before any involved procedures are
performed. Payment is due at the time of service by cash, check,
MasterCard, Visa and Discover. We also offer CitiHealth Credit that can be
applied for at the clinic, and if you qualify, credit will be granted
immediately. CitiHealth Credit service provides several payment options for
your pets medical care.
5. How do I make an appointment for
boarding?
We are proud to offer many boarding
options at the clinic. We have small and large cages as well as runs for
larger pets. Our facility is air-conditioned and heated, and we have
outside runs that dogs can use during the day to get some fresh air and
exercise. We also have an exercise pen so your dog can run and play.
You may schedule your pet for drop off or pickup from boarding anytime during
regular clinic hours. In addition, if you need to drop off or pick up your
pet on a Saturday or Sunday, you can make arrangements by speaking with the
receptionist or by calling the clinic phone number and leaving a message that
you need to drop off or pick up your pet. When the attendant on duty
arrives at the clinic, they will call you and let you know they have arrived and
you can then come to the clinic and drop off or pick up your pet. This
service is available on Saturday mornings and evenings and on Sunday
evenings. To be sure you are able to communicate with the attendant, we
recommend that you call the clinic prior to 8am for Saturday mornings, and prior
to 4pm for Saturday and Sunday evenings.
6. What if my pet won't take its medicine?
Giving medication to a pet can sometimes turn into
quite a challenge. Many medications can be pushed
into the back of the mouth for a cooperative patient. We can dispense many
medications in a liquid form that may be easier to give. You can
sometimes hide your pets medication in a small amount of food, and we also have
bags of treats that are soft enough to hide a pill in. We also have
arrangements with a compounding pharmacy that can sometimes compound your pets
medication in a more palatable liquid and ship it to you by
mail.
